HoursLens Guide

Field-testing guide. This is the first version of the HoursLens instructions and will expand with screenshots and detailed walkthroughs as field testing continues.

Getting started

1. Export your logbook

HoursLens currently supports ForeFlight and Logbook Pro exports. Export your flight history from the source application without rebuilding or reformatting it by hand.

2. Load it into HoursLens

Sign in, open the Analyzer, select your export and confirm the detected format. Uploaded master logbooks are not permanently stored by default.

3. Run the Audit

Use Audit to identify deterministic Errors and entries marked for Review. Filters and Show Flights take you back to the affected entries.

4. Explore your experience

Use Analyzer, Logbook Builder, aircraft classifications, summaries and highlighting to answer questions about your flight history.

5. Map your flying

Flight Map visualizes routes and airport activity and lets you inspect the flights behind the map.

6. Build reports

Create custom reports and summaries or use the FAA 8710-1 worksheet to organize Section III experience totals.

Before an aviation interview

Run the Audit first, resolve or understand anything it identifies, then use HoursLens to review the experience categories most likely to come up in your interview. The goal is not just a total—it is being able to explain the flying behind the number.
